Amnesiac

OPEN SCENE from the point of view of James (Tyler Nixon). The screen is black because his eyes are closed. His eyes suddenly open in response to the sounds of a car accident. As he observes his surroundings, we can hear his struggle to catch his breath. As his vision sharpens, he notices Annie (Sovereign Syre), who is sitting at his bedside, caring for him. She has a caring look in her eyes. He has amnesia and she informs him that she is his wife, pledging to take care of him until his memory returns.CUT TO THE TITLEJames is still unable to remember much and Annie wants him to stay in bed. It is revealed that Annie discovered James on the road after he was involved in a hit and run on one of his evening walks. Later that day, after Annie leaves for work, James tries to use the Internet but discovers that it is not working. He is puzzled and sits down in his chair. Something catches his eye: a picture of him and Annie on the nearby fireplace. The perfect happy couple, they are smiling. He frowns as he looks at the picture. He can see something is wrong, but he doesn't know what. But before he can investigate further, Annie unlocks the front door and walks in.Annie says that Internet service is not available for long periods in their rural community. This is normal. She has repeatedly urged him to contact the Internet company about his accident before it happens. BUT, she doesn't want to bother him with that kind of thing now, insisting that SHE will call the Internet company as soon as she can. She kisses him and leaves the room to make dinner. He smiles after her, but a small glint of suspicion shines in his eyes.Later that night, James finds a suspicious receipt. Annie asks him about the receipt. It is about their wedding rings. The receipt is only two weeks old. They have been married for ten years. He surprised her with new rings a few weeks ago because he couldn't afford to buy them nice ones. James seems to be able to trust her, but the doubt grows. Some time later, James looks closely at a photo of him and Annie. The photo clearly shows that something has happened to her. James confronts Annie about the photo. Annie claims that there is a problem with the printer and that the photos are printed with errors. He accepts her explanation, but his suspicions grow.As James searches for incriminating evidence, his memory returns. Annie is confronted by James, who, for the first time in a long time, seems lucid. James now knows exactly what Annie has been hiding from him and he will make sure she NEVER forgets the price she paid for deceiving him...
