Fortunately, when he starts reading the papers, time seems to speed up.This essay is about Carolina Sweets, a young girl who accepts the fact that she is a virgin at 18. Betty is proud, recognizing that her virginity is a special gift-she doesn't want to give it away to just anyone... He stares intently at the student, listening to her say "I'm not a virgin" over and over again, which eventually drives him crazy with desire. She asks him to become this perfect person to complete her... He invites Betty to come over the next day and discuss the beauty of writing. Betty is naive about everything, but she is happy to be in the presence of a teacher she admires. She begins to suspect that Mr. Davies is trying to give her more compliments than he used to... Finally, Mr. Davies asks her if she feels it too? The connection between them? He read the essay as if it was written specifically for HIM. It was almost as if she wanted HIM to take her virginity.Betty, shocked by his statement, said that was not the meaning she intended. However, Mr. Davies has power over Betty. If she does not give herself to him, he could prevent her from graduating or being accepted into good colleges. To save face, she submits to Mr. Davies' twisted delusion, willing to give up her virginity to prevent him from taking EVERYTHING from her.
