Breaking Curfew

In this scene, two friends are driving down a residential street. In the car, they are listening to music and reminiscing about the party they just left. As they turn off the main road onto a long, quiet street, Amanda, the passenger, asks her friend to turn off the music and dim the lights. She doesn't want her parents to catch her driving home after curfew. When they arrive home, Amanda gets out of the car. Her friend asks her if she wants her to wait inside, but Amanda pushes her away, not wanting the car to attract attention. As usual, she sneaks out the back door. She drives her friend.
When Amanda goes around to the back, she is surprised to find it locked. The front door is open and she goes around again. Her parents have left a note on her door. The note reads, "Mandy: Our parents told you not to break your curfew." You can learn a lot from spending the night locked up. Mom and Dad. Amanda swears at herself and tries to open the door anyway. It's locked. To find the spare key, she reaches under the carpet. It's not there anymore. She looks at the night and swears again. Slowly, she goes back to the street. Her friend is long gone now. She takes out her phone but he is dead. She has no choice but to go back to the main road and try to find a phone booth.

She starts to feel uncomfortable as she moves. She feels like there is someone else on the road. She keeps looking around in the dark, turning her head. She sees nothing. Anxiety finally pushes her to stop. This time she can clearly hear another person. Slowly, she turns her head... her fists are clenched. Don't come any closer, she threatens, I have a mace! The night is quiet and still. Breathing hard, she turns around and starts walking again. Just as she is about to relax, someone comes from behind. She widens her eyes and turns around.

Amanda slowly opens her eyes. It's morning. The teenager has been stripped down to her underwear. She is lying on what looks like the floor of a barn. She notices another girl sitting next to her as she approaches the barn. She also sees another girl in her underwear, her skin soiled and her eyes glassy with confusion. Clutching her knees, she stares at Amanda. Amanda has been waiting for her to wake up for many hours. Amanda tries to scream, but she can't hear the girl. Shut up, she whispers, or he will hear you! She slowly removes her hand from Amanda's mouth. When Amanda asks what is going on, the girl explains that she has been here for days. They were both taken by this guy. This guy is a lunatic. Amanda asks if he has ever performed sexual acts on them. The girl shakes her head. She tries to reassure him, but he won't listen. He gets too anxious and leaves. I think he's really disturbed! Amanda questions the girl who calls herself Jaime. The girls discover that they share many similarities: both are 19 years old, live in the same neighborhood and have been taken to school at night. Amanda interrupts the conversation to ask the boy who took them. A young man stumbles into the barn. Although he is handsome and clean, there is something wrong with his appearance. His eyes roam the barn anxiously as he makes his way toward the girls. Jaime pretends to rest but Amanda stares at him. He leans in her direction. Bravely, she tells him to let them go. Defiantly, he grabs Jamie in his arms and drags her to the center of the barn. He tells Amanda all the terrible things he did to her, and how he's going to treat them both now that they're awake. As he is bragging, he hears something outside and tells the girls to be quiet and wait. He runs outside. Jamie staggers over to Amanda.
