Making Up For Lost Time

Suzie (Hazel Moore), is in her room relaxing when Alice (Jamie Michelle) enters the room and speaks to her. Alice tells Suzie that she will be on professional retreat for two weeks and that she would prefer Suzie to stay with Kevin (John Strong), Alice's ex-husband and Suzie's stepfather. Suzie, who is understanding and a little nervous about not having seen her stepfather in a while, wonders if it would be okay to have him stay with her. Alice assures her that Kevin is very happy with the idea of Suzie staying with him - Alice and Kevin's divorce was due to their incompatible personalities, and had nothing to do with Suzie. A few days later, Kevin opens his door to Suzie. A few days later, Kevin opens his door to Suzie. Both are awkward, but they get along well with each other. He takes Suzie's suitcase and invites them in. He encourages Suzie to relax and tells her that he will take care of everything. After apologizing, he explains that he accidentally damaged her clothes by using too much bleach. However, he bought a lot of clothes for her to complete her look. Suzie sees that the new clothes are very revealing, and hesitantly says that these kinds of clothes are not... really her style. Kevin plays coy, apologizes, and claims that he asked the saleswoman what girls his age could wear, and this is what she showed him. Suzie feels uncomfortable and tries on some clothes. Kevin compliments her on how nice her outfit is. It gives her confidence. She says that maybe this kind of style isn't so bad after all. Kevin smiles happily, but Suzie doesn't know about it.Later that day, Kevin and Suzie decide to watch a movie together, but Suzie is surprised when Kevin offers to sit on his lap. Suzie asks if she's a little old for that. Kevin looks dejected and says he assumes she's right. He has missed so many precious moments and wanted to make up the difference. Feeling bad for him, Suzie agrees to sit on his lap, not realizing that this is all part of her plan...
