When Men Were Men

Bryan (Pierce Paris), and Emma (Whitney Wright), are frightened to have to speak to Josephine (Dee Williams), their landlord, who will soon arrive. The tension between the husband and wife, Bryan (Pierce Paris) and Emma (Whitney Wright), is revealed.Bryan and Emma are all smiling when Josephine comes to their house. They ask Josephine to make the third time that Emma's first name be changed on the mailbox. Emma's is incorrectly displayed. Josephine doesn't see what the big problem is and insists it'd be easier if Emma just took Bryan's name since it's tradition. Emma gets angry, but Bryan intervenes to diffuse the situation. Bryan asks Josephine directly to change her name. Josephine agrees and goes to make the changes. The situation only gets worse as Emma and Bryan become increasingly uncomfortable with Josephine's outdated, sexist ideas. It's clear that Josephine thinks that Emma's not playing the appropriate role of a doting housewife. She also doesn't think that Bryan isn't stepping up to be the man of the house. It seems that Josephine is still paying attention to Bryan despite this.Josephine finally visits Bryan one day when he is alone to apologize halfheartedly for the strain that has been created between them. It's a clear ruse, as Josephine questions Bryan's unwillingness to take control and be assertive. That's when she starts coming onto Bryan, under the guise of wanting a 'real' man as she simultaneously tries to make him doubt his marriage.Bryan is uncomfortable and confused. Josephone tries to ignite the fire and he is sucked in more. She exaggerates the sex she would have with Bryan, even describing anal sex. Although Bryan tries to resist, Josephine's words get to him and his resolve finally crumbles. They have passionate, primal sex but are soon interrupted when Emma returns home. Emma is furious but Bryan doesn't seem to have any remorse, Josephine's words having finally gotten to him. Bryan confronts Emma about being controlling and never letting him have what he wants. Bryan insists that Emma join them in proving this to be true, even though she denies it.
